Choose a canon point, any canon point! Even from AAI2, why not.	7-8 years later, AJ/DD era. Prosecutor who studied under Miles Edgeworth. Still hyper and makes thief jokes. Still the Yatagarasu.
Somarium	Mask or Menace
Lived with Edgeworth and Stitch. Recruited Ema, Trucy and Maya into the Yatagarasu. 19 years old. Had college plans.	Can command and talk to crows, replicate voices and sounds perfectly, and use Charter Magic. Juror for Teen Court.

[At first she's completely dumbstruck, until strangely, a big, impressed smile dawns upon her face. She laughs; she doesn't know her name but at least she knows who she is, and is positive that someone as smart as Edgeworth could return that memory to her.]

[Given that Kay's reactions are precisely the sort he anticipated — indeed, even the big smile that ultimately spreads over her face and her comparison of him to a Great Thief — Edgeworth is actually internally relieved to see this play out. Particularly that last part. Since things are going according to his expectations, it's a simple matter to keep his outward expression cool and collected.]

I wouldn't characterize it as "theft", though I suppose a comparison to the so-called "thefts" you've perpetrated is apt. Of course, I do intend to return your name to you. Even if I don't actively do so, you should remember it tomorrow morning at the very latest.

It's gonna be pretty difficult to explain to new people I meet sometime between now and tomorrow morning that I teeeechnically don't have my name right now, though...

[Then don't meet new people today, Kay! That can wait!]

Do you have anything to do today aside from helping with the case?

[They are out at an isolated cabin in the woods as part of that very investigation, after all.]

[Kay thinks for a moment.]

Umm...I did promise to pick up a few groceries on the way home after this...

Normally when I shop for things, I avoid such distractions as fraternizing with the employees or any customers, and I rarely notice others doing so either.

[yatagarasu]

Tsk, Mr. Edgeworth, you could do with some new friends...

Isn't it enough that you've begun following me?

[yatagarasu]

I know I'm your friend but you do need to expand your friend horizons.

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth blinks in surprise for a moment at Kay's assertion of being his friend.]

(I suppose she wouldn't have volunteered to take the risk of placing her mind in my hands if she didn't consider me a friend... and I must reluctantly admit to being needlessly emotional concerning her role in all this.)

[As for the rest of Kay's sentence...]

For what reason do you see that as necessary?

Because as your friend, I care about your well-being, and you know what they say - no man is an island!

[She spreads her arms wide.]

[And Edgeworth does the same, shaking his head.]

I'm already aware of that much, due to the efforts of a certain man. I simply fail to see why I need to trust an excessive number of people.

[yatagarasu]

You don't have to jump straight to the trust part, y'know. Sometimes it's enough to know someone and enjoy talking to them.

So, who is this man who taught you the power of friendship?

I fail to see why I should spend time unrelated to work with someone I don't trust. For that matter, working relationships also require trust to function at their best.

As for that man, it would be more accurate to say that he taught me the necessity of teamwork.

[...But it wouldn't take a mind-reader or super-tic-reader or heart-whisperer to see more than that in Edgeworth's eyes.]

[But you have to build relationships up from the bottom to the top...oh, heck, she feels that if they start debating about that, they won't stop.]

Aw, he sounds like a great guy. [Kay can see it in his eyes, all right.] And it sounds like you're both pretty close.

How did — er, well, I... suppose "close" isn't an entirely inapt description...

[Yes, awkwardness levels just shot through the roof here.]

With a friend like that, you gotta be proud that you know him! Don't make that face when you talk about him...

I see no reason to be proud of mere happenstance, but I certainly do greatly appreciate the fact that I know him.

I am, however, proud of what he and I can accomplish together. I have no better ally in the cause of pursuing the truth than him.

[She gives him a warm smile.]

I'd like to meet him one day. Is he a lawyer too?

Indeed, a defense attorney. Though at the moment, we have more important matters to attend to than idle discussion of my own life.

[yatagarasu]

...right, riiight. Kinda weird to be talking about these things while I still don't have my name.

Is there anything else we need to investigate first...or do you plan to give me back my name earlier?

[truthsnomiracle]

There is more in need of investigation, but most of that can be done just as efficiently after I give your name back.

[Edgeworth readies his organizer and pen again.]

Before I do that, though, I would appreciate an account of what that absence is like.

[yatagarasu]

[Kay frowns in thought, folds one arm over her chest, rests her opposite elbow on it, and rests her chin on her fist.]

You told me I'd forget my name...so I did. I didn't notice anything was gone until you reminded me, and then when I went through everything I could remember, I found...nothing.

You know that feeling you have when something's on the tip of your tongue but you can't figure out what it is? It's that feeling, only I have absolutely no clue what my name is. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
