If I did that, my bangs would become far less orderly, much as they were when I was a boy, until I put effort into styling them once more.

It doesn't seem to work for that part of your hair, though. [She takes a swig from her cup of juice.]
no subject
Nor, admittedly, does anything else.
no subject
...Well, I'll let you know if we come up with something for that. [And by "we", she means, "we merpeople". Which is kind of a long shot, but anyway.]
no subject
[As Edgeworth says this, he pours himself a quarter of a bottle of the iced tea. He then picks the cup up and sips at it experimentally...]
...Huh. I'm impressed that you managed to find a bottled iced tea of moderate quality.
no subject
Thank you! I worked my way down 'cause the best ones were pretty expensive. Plus, I had to stock up on food for the two of us...especially since you'll probably be swinging by here more often from now on.
no subject
[Read, no more forcing me to swim through a tunnel long enough to make me uncomfortably short of breath without the ring, kthx.]
no subject
[What else? She thinks, looking at him over the rim of her cup. Wait...]
no subject
But in the meantime, we have more immediate business to attend to, do we not?
no subject
Oh, wait, were you talking about how to get here?

"Most". I can help you deal with the rest... [The best way of saying, "I can help you get over your fear?"]

[Edgeworth goes silent and looks away from Kay. Even if she inexplicably doesn't think less of him for it, he's still not comfortable with the idea of openly dwelling on one of his weaknesses alongside someone else. It's unavoidably true that his life situation has changed such that this needs addressing as much as his related problem with elevators, but...
The prosecutor looks back to Kay.]
While I concede that it's become necessary to squash that weakness, I believe I'm perfectly capable of addressing that myself. I see no reason to involve you.
no subject
It's more than necessary! That's why I'm volunteering to help. Don't you think a mermaid assistant's perfect for that job?
no subject
[Hard to cross his arms when he's holding a cup of tea, but the sentiment is definitely there.]
no subject
...A really deep and wet pickle!
no subject
I have no intention of actually endangering myself in the process, Kay. That would defeat the purpose of convincing myself that my sense of its danger is exaggerated in the first place.
[Edgeworth takes a long sip of his iced tea.]

[She stares into her cup.]
Worst case scenario - I'm not around, and neither are my trinkets!

no subject
All right then, I won't loan you the ring on the way back! [She says this almost eagerly.]
no subject
Gmnugh?!
no subject
You did say you wanted to face it, that's a start. Unless you want to start with something smaller?
no subject
[It just blindsided him for her to suddenly propose that, that's all.]
Admittedly, I had smaller steps in mind first, though, yes. Furthermore, I still fail to see see why you believe I must specifically put my weaknesses on further display for you!

Because this HAD to have happened to him during the Jerkworth years...
I don't dispute this, I would accept it as headcanon
