Open Post: The Kay Faraday Edition
This is my permanent Kay Faraday open post. Spam me with prompts, picture prompts, AUs, and the like. Indicate canon point or universe when necessary. Please note that I don't do slash, smut, anything sexual or anything overly and excessively violent.

Choose a canon point, any canon point! Even from AAI2, why not.	7-8 years later, AJ/DD era. Prosecutor who studied under Miles Edgeworth. Still hyper and makes thief jokes. Still the Yatagarasu.
Somarium	Mask or Menace
Lived with Edgeworth and Stitch. Recruited Ema, Trucy and Maya into the Yatagarasu. 19 years old. Had college plans.	Can command and talk to crows, replicate voices and sounds perfectly, and use Charter Magic. Juror for Teen Court.

[Kay lets go of him and stops, staring at him.]

But don't you want to run dramatically and excitedly into the water?

[truthsnomiracle]

No.

[And he'll just continue walking into the water, thank you very much.]

[She sighs.]

Mr. Edgeworth...

[yatagarasu]

[But after sparing that time to mourn Edgeworth's serious need for fun and excitement, she'll run eagerly into the shallows past him.]

[Edgeworth, content to let Kay have her own opinion about him so long as she keeps it to herself, simply wades into the water as Kay easily outpaces him. Once the water is deep enough, he hunches down so he's in up to his neck, then brushes off some of the more stubborn bits of wet sand before standing and starting to calmly make his way back.]

[yatagarasu]

[All Kay does is get the sand off her knees and legs from when she knelt down beside Edgeworth, although she spends some time just splashing around...

...in fact, when Edgeworth makes his way back, she wades up to him and splashes him. With both hands. For maximum splash power.]

Gnangh! Wh-what was that for?!

[At least he doesn't sound angry, just unpleasantly surprised.]

[She giggles, shaking with mirth.]

Oh, nothing! I just wanted to splash you...again! [Loosen up, Edgeworth. Does she have to dunk you underwater too?]

Hmph.

[To judge by the fact that he's picking up the pace of his wading back onto the beach, he's not about to permit any dunking, young lady.]

[What about a tacklehug that results in both of them falling over into the water?

At least she doesn't do anything else except follow him back.]

You were really serious about leaving having fun for last today, weren't you?

[Even worse idea. Fortunately, Edgeworth is soon out of the water and on his way back to the picnic area.]

Why would I not be serious about that? There's a great deal for me to learn and precious little time to spare in even beginning to do so. On that note, I believe we left off in the middle of your explanation of the various artifacts you have here?

I probably shouldn't underestimate how serious you can get.

[With a laugh, Kay also leaves the water and is quick to grab her towel - at least she remembers which one is hers. She begins drying off, starting with her hair, which entails taking that large key out and undoing her ponytail.

Long hair problems.]

Nor should anyone else.

[If that was a tease, it backfired.

As Kay dries herself off, Edgeworth does the same in much the way he did before, idiosyncratic means of wringing out his hair and all.]

[yatagarasu]

[Kay is still amused and can't help but watch him wring out his hair while wiping down the rest of her body.]

I'm gonna see you do that more often, aren't I? It never gets old!

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth shrugs.]

I suppose you will. It is what it is; I fail to see why you find it quite that entertaining. (But at the very least, it's better than being amused by my humiliation.)

[That having been said, the prosecutor seats himself on the larger towel where they'll be eating.]

[yatagarasu]

I've never seen anyone dry off their hair like that, that's all. [She shrugs, and once she's done drying off, she doesn't pull her hair back into a ponytail but walks over to the cooler and the picnic basket.]

Okay, I brought...sandwiches, some fresh fruit, trail mix...and Swiss rolls, of course! [She continues rooting through her stash of food and drinks.] Are you still having iced tea?

[truthsnomiracle]

Of course. What sorts of fruit and sandwiches do you have?

[yatagarasu]

Apple slices, grapes...oh, oranges, too. And for sandwiches, you have your BLT and your ham and cheese, tuna, chicken...

[truthsnomiracle]

An impressive selection. I'd like a tuna sandwich and some apple slices to begin with.

[yatagarasu]

Is there still some iced tea left in the bottle?

[Kay picks up a tuna sandwich, and makes a gesture as if to toss it over to Edgeworth...but the sandwich thankfully just remains in her hand. She was just messing with you, sir.]

[truthsnomiracle]

[At least a tuna sandwich is soft enough, and the distance short enough, that the mimed toss only prompts Edgeworth to move to try to catch it rather than panic or scold Kay.]

Very little. Do you have a second bottle?

[yatagarasu]

[Kay sifts through the drinks...and comes up with another bottle.]

Ta-da! I'm always prepared!

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth nods slowly and deeply, as though trying to bow while sitting.]

Thank you.

[And now he'll refill his cup, draining the last of the first bottle before adding some from the second.]

[Kay manages to carry in her hands two sandwiches - both tuna - a container of apple slices, and a small bag of nuts, raisins and pretzels. She seats herself in front of Edgeworth, handing him one sandwich and placing the rest of the food between them.

Well, she does need to free up her hands and pour herself more of the tea, too.]

You're welcome. I gotta admit, all that swimming and explaining and shaking you out of your song made me hungry.

[truthsnomiracle]

"My song"... [Edgeworth shudders even as he accepts the sandwich.] It's admittedly highly disturbing how the music welling up inside my mind threatened to distort it, particularly while I was actually singing it.

[The prosecutor pauses to take a bite out of the sandwich.]
