Choose a canon point, any canon point! Even from AAI2, why not.	7-8 years later, AJ/DD era. Prosecutor who studied under Miles Edgeworth. Still hyper and makes thief jokes. Still the Yatagarasu.
Somarium	Mask or Menace
Lived with Edgeworth and Stitch. Recruited Ema, Trucy and Maya into the Yatagarasu. 19 years old. Had college plans.	Can command and talk to crows, replicate voices and sounds perfectly, and use Charter Magic. Juror for Teen Court.

Hmm...I think they would. Some are interested in learning more about human society, so maybe you could work out an info trade with them?

Provided we can find one who won't double-cross us, that is. After all, with the unique capabilities in play...

[Edgeworth trails off, then takes a sip of his tea.]

They're family friends. [Kay takes a bite of her sandwich and makes sure her mouth isn't full when she talks.] Besides, you could logic your way into knowing which of the experts to trust, right?

[Whoops.]

Er, yes, of course. My apologies. (She could have said as much sooner!)

[yatagarasu]

Buuuut yeah, there'll be other experts who aren't as tight with my family. Especially, y'know, since my mom married a human and all.

[She shrugs and returns to her sandwich.]

[truthsnomiracle]

[Edgeworth takes a bite of his own sandwich while Kay speaks, and swallows it shortly thereafter.]

At least those connections mean that I shouldn't have to spend much if any time arguing for my right to learn any truths related to merpeople or your songs at all. The truth behind this... malady I apparently have while transformed is something best unraveled as well, but it's not as directly relevant to my ability to do my job. In any case, I would gladly explain terrestrial life in exchange.

[yatagarasu]

You'd think I could, since I can tell a microwave from a breaking wave, but they'd prefer to hear it from a real, live, 100% human.

[truthsnomiracle]

Huh. One would think someone with a foot in both worlds, so to speak, would have an easier time presenting such information in a way easily understood by them. Nevertheless, I would be glad to give my own account.

[yatagarasu]

Great! [She grins.] At least we don't have to worry about bribes!

[truthsnomiracle]

I should hope that bribes were never really on the table to begin with, Kay.

[yatagarasu]

Just kidding! [She continues eating.]

[Edgeworth huffs in frustration, then continues eating and drinking in silence for a moment.]

(How is it that she's so content to joke about undermining the structures that hold society together?)

Anyway, I believe that before we took that surreal if enlightening tangent into my trying on another species for size, you were explaining the parade of artifacts you showed me earlier, as well as the nature of magical objects in general.

[Kay perks up, then quickly chews her food before answering.]

Yeah! That was fun. Is there anything you wanna start with?

[truthsnomiracle]

The circlet comes to mind. The pair of smaller hoops you presented I presume to be the anklets you mentioned before.

[yatagarasu]

And you presumed right. [She nods, gesturing with her sandwich.] You're also referring to the headband with the wave pattern on it, right? It's still got a few kinks that need to be worked out.

[truthsnomiracle]

Wh-what — h-how in the world did you end up with an incomplete prototype artifact in your possession?!

[yatagarasu]

Whoa, whoa! Calm down, Mr. Edgeworth!

[Kay holds up both her hands - one with a sandwich, the other empty.]

I told you, my relatives were the ones working on it! They let me stash it here for now.

[truthsnomiracle]

(So it's the protective device she mentioned earlier...) That's a rather significant responsibility. They must have a great deal of trust in you.

[yatagarasu]

...Or, they think the last place anyone would look is in a teenage girl's secret lair.

[She resumes eating with a slightly smug look on her face.]

[truthsnomiracle]

That still entails trusting you to protect this very same lair and the secret it harbors well.

[Edgeworth sips at his tea again before continuing his sandwich.]

I do have help with that.

Concerning that, I'm left to wonder how you've established such loyalty that you can be certain that the dolphins will not simply swim off the moment they learn of a school of tuna several miles away.

[yatagarasu]

We worked out an agreement. They can swim off and find food but some of them have to stay behind.

[truthsnomiracle]

I see. Expanding upon that, I suppose taking turns would fall within a dolphin's level of comprehension.
